It works as:
-it creates saturated steam and delivers boiling water (Satusteam) at a large volume. The deliver of water to the plant at boiling point utilizes thermal shock. Thermal shock occurs by rapidly heating the weed by applying 98-100c (212F) water and wet steam for just 2 seconds. This causes the weed cells to literally explode, killing the weed INSTANTLY.
-the thermal shock delivered at temperatures above 98c (205F) is 2-3 times MORE EFFICIENT than lethal heat which hot water systems rely on.
-it is pressurized; the water is heated up to 115°-120°C without boiling. Pressurization raises the physical boiling temperature of water to over 300°C!
-it maintains pressure through delivery hose and lance, right up until it passes through the unique nozzle system where it explodes into saturated steam and delivers it as boiling water. What that means is that your super heated water doesn’t flash into saturated steam and boiling water until it is within 5 cm of the target.
-it lets no time for water to cool into the atmosphere, prior to hitting the target.
-weeding with boiling water is the combination of adding heat and water to the soil surface which germinates some species in a seed bank. Some species of seeds can’t tolerate the heat and are de-natured, they die and decay in the soil, whilst others love it, as it splits the hard seed coat and allows their first embryonic roots and shoots to emerge. Either way, it’s a bonus. It’s a bonus because we can now deplete the seed bank which means that we can control next year’s weeds this year.
-destroying the above-ground portion of the plant forces the biological process of the weed to use the store of energy in its roots to regenerate the above-ground portion of the plant. The root zone diminishes until the plant has enough leaf growth to photosynthesize and generate enough sugars, starches, proteins etc to regrow leaf, stem and roots. Subsequent treatments of Satusteam©, delivered before the plant has regenerated its root zone, will eliminate the weed.
